PAITHOM, the first of its kind is a joint venture of the development aid of Government of Austria and Government of Pakistan (Ministry of Tourism). It is located 19 Km from Saidu Sharif on Kalam road at an altitude of 3581 ft at Gulibagh Swat, surrounded by pines and wild olive trees.

The story of establishing a training school goes back to the 1980’s when in 1983 the Austrian government provided a loan to develop winter sports and summer resort at Malam Jabba with the objectives of aiding in the development of the area. A great need for a training institute in the north of Pakistan was realized to provide the continuous supply of well trained hotel personal to meet the demand of the necessary domestic & international tourism in the area. 1988-1991 were the years of discussions of establishing and identifying the right location, which included Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree and other places. A feasibility study was conducted in this regard, and the study formed the basis of PAITHOM Gulibagh Swat. PAITHOM opened in June 2006 and in very short period of time its success story started.Our students have got jobs in Dubai, Maldives and in the local market as well.Also our students have recieved scholarships in hoteling institutes in Europe for higher studies.
